Borderline is a semi-casual raiding guild with the intent of reaching end game content and still remaining a family and friends enviorment. Semi-casual being defined as your general freedom to do what you want and minimal raiding schedule.

    Recruitment
All potential members must fill out and submit an application, no exceptions! Once an application has been received, the officers will review the application, reach a decision, and contact the applicant. At times there are questions about an application, so please leave contact information such as the best time to contact you in-game and/or an email address.

In certain cases, applicants may be requested to attend an instance run before a guild invite is given. Applicants may also be invited along on raids, but they will not be allowed to roll on items unless no member needs it.

Family and real-life friends of current full members must also fill out an application, but this is merely a formality. However, this is only done for casual members. If a family member or real-life friends wants to apply for the raider rank, they must meet all the requirements, and their relationship with current members has no bearing on the decision.

Borderline is a casual raiding guild. As such, we have found it necessary to create two separate ranks for each type of player. Please note on the application which you are applying for and submit the required information. The raiding rank has a minimum standard which must be met in order to qualify for consideration. Take a moment to consider which you are applying for.

    Casual Members
These are the members that consider themselves casual. They are by no means cut out from raids, but raiders get first shot at spots and all drops. Casual members do not have to declare a main and have no minimum level or gear requirements, but casual members are not given preference on raid invites or drops. A person of the casual rank may apply to be a raider at any time.

    Raiding Members
Must Declare a Main Character and that toon will be expected to maintain its spec unless given permission by the council of warlords to do so.
These members meet all the minimum requirements. They get first preference on invites, first preference on drops.
You will need to be able maintain at least 1500 DPS
you are expected to have reasonable gear (75% item levels 184 and higher minimum) and appropriate enchants and gemming on said gear
You are expected to bring all needed materials( health/mana pots, buff foods, bandages, elixers or flasks)
You will meet these requirements as well as applying to the general raid rules below

If You Choose To Be A Raider You MUST Post in and Acknowledge these rules in the Raiders Forum.

    General Guild Rules

Members may not use cheats or exploits

Members need to behave in a mature, professional, team focused manner. Self focused, loot focused, immature people will not be tolerated

Personal attacks on other members is not permitted. Handle issues with another player 1 on 1, in a mature professional way. Seek an Warlords help if needed but do not personally attack other members.
Backstabbing, looting, stealing from, scamming or otherwise harming other members is not permitted. It all goes back to our core value that we are a team of friends.

Keep guild and Ventrilo chat to PG-13. It is fine to use more mature language in private tells or in a private Ventrilo room, but only if the other person(s) don't have an issue. This includes sexually explicit speech as well as vulgarity.

Neither sexual harassment nor racial slurs will be tolerated under any circumstances.

Conflict is inevitable with a guild of our numbers. If a member has a grievance with another, please speak to an officer about the situation rather than making rash decisions or doing something inappropriate. The Warlord will attempt to resolve the situation in the way he or she best sees fit. If the Warlord is not able to handle the situation alone, the matter can be discussed by all of the Warlords
either on the forums or by other means. In extreme cases, a special meeting may be called. While we cannot guarantee a swift resolution to all grievances, we will do our best to bring a speedy resolution.

While helping other guild members is not required, it is very strongly encouraged. Members are under no obligation to power level others, and the practice is very strongly discouraged.

Members that have been inactive for more than 3 months will be removed from the guild unless a notice of absence has been given to a council member.

If a Warlord tells you to do something, do it immediately. Do not argue or complain to them and definitely do not get nasty with them or removal can occur

    RAID RULES

Ventrilo, Deadly Boss Mods or Big Wigs, and Omen, are all required for raiding. Please be sure to have them installed, configured, and ready to go before invites begin. Members of the Raider rank must all be able to listen and speak in Ventrilo.

Please keep Ventrilo chatter to a minimum. There should be absolutely no unnecessary chatter during a boss fight or when the raid leader needs to explain the fight.

If the raid leader calls for silence, you must comply, regardless of what you are saying.

Standard raid times are from 8pm to 12pm server time.

Inform the raid leader if you are not able to stay the whole time. Be sure to include approximate [server] time you will need to leave.
Members must be online at least 15 minutes before invites go out. If you cannot make this for some reason and are planning to be there before the raid begins, please let an officer know.

Class balance must be respected. As such, there may be times when not everyone can get in on an instance run. Raiders that are not able to go due to class balance will be given first priority on the next run.

Be prepared for a raid! Don't show up to a raid without repairing, without reagents, and any required items you may need for that particular raid (potions, ammunition, bandages, poisons, etc.)

Be prepared to work! Don't show expecting to do nothing and receive free epics. The Council may decide to pass an item to the next person in line if your performance has been less than satisfactory.

Please try to only go afk at designated times. However, if you must go afk at that moment, please inform the raid and set someone on follow.

If a person is on the waiting list, please be at the entrance and ready. If there is another person lower on the list but at the entrance, they will be invited first.

Any player offline for more than 10 minutes will be dropped from the raid if there is someone on the waiting list that could fill the slot.

Read up on the encounters and be prepared. We post strategies on the forums for a reason. It takes far less time to explain a fight if people know before it even begins what they will be doing and the mechanics of the fight.

Have fun! We do raids to have fun. We also acknowledge that hitting that brick wall really lowers morale, but please try to ride it out instead of quitting.

    Loot Rules

Raiders will be given preference over non-raider members on all drops.

Classes allowed to roll on an item will be determined by the raid leader and/or officers.

Once it is determined who will be allowed to roll, the people rolling will do a simple /random 100 to determine the winner. In the even of a tie, the tied members will roll again.

Patterns will be distributed by officer decision.

This is a living document and may change at anytime notification of any changes will be made to the guild
